Buenos Aires, November 15 (NA) – The Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli, met with the governor of Neuquén, Rolando Figueroa, to discuss the 2026 Budget and the reforms proposed by the Executive Branch.

This exchange is part of the agenda that Santilli has undertaken with the aim of working together with the governors, "to listen to their agendas and work proposals, and at the same time, to dialogue with the National Congress to promote and advance the structural reforms that Argentina needs."

During the day, Santilli and Figueroa highlighted "the importance of reciprocal work and dialogue between the provinces and the Nation."

On the table was the discussion of the 2026 Budget Law, tax reform, labor modernization, and the new Penal Code.

Figueroa emphasized that "Neuquén will play a fundamental role in the design and construction of the new Argentina" and considered that dialogue "will always be productive."

"We don't fight for the sake of fighting, we fight for Neuquén," said the provincial leader and added that from his government they will support "every work that benefits Neuquén and drives us towards growth."

"There are many points of view on growth that coincide, and there are some that perhaps do not. But it is important to work on the coincidences and to advance in them is the beginning of a great path. On that path, one dialogues about points where there may not be full agreement, but we are convinced that we are in a virtuous circle," indicated Figueroa.

For his part, Santilli explained that this is his first official visit to Neuquén, which was "entrusted by the President of the Nation, Javier Milei, to carry out common agendas: the one the governor and the province have, and the one the president has for reforms moving forward."

He said that among the topics of interest for the national government are "generating work to get out of informality and move to formality; lowering taxes, as the president has been doing during these 20 months of management; resolving situations that each of the provinces has, in this case Neuquén, and obviously also having a budget moving forward, which is what we are beginning to talk about with the governors."

He also mentioned the need for "a new penal code," and expressed: "We must take an example: the province is also moving forward with its codes."
